Applause

About applause

Applause is the booster organization for the musical arts at Lake Forest High School. Founded in 1996, it is an organization of parents, alumni, faculty, and friends that provides support and communication for all band, choral, orchestral, and other music activities. Applause promotes student recognition, awards, and scholarships; publishes In Concert, the musical arts newsletter; assists with the Honors Competition; coordinates the Spaghetti Dinner; assists with the Citrus Sale; manages band and orchestra concert attire; and provides concert ushers, receptions, decorations, and publicity.

saxophoneOur greatest source of income is membership donations. Funds raised go toward the purchase of equipment, grants for visiting artists and master classes, camp scholarships, and the spring trip abroad. Applause also sponsors the Senior Scholarships for Excellence in Music.

The Applause Board consists of more than 20 parent volunteers who fill a wide range of positions. New volunteers are always welcome, whether to fill board positions at the beginning of each year or to assist with projects that come along during the year. Click here to see a brief job description for each of the Applause board positions.

The Applause Board meets monthly between September and June. Applause members are welcome to attend meetings and learn about what the board does. Meeting dates are shown on the Applause Board page and on the Calendar. Dates are subject to change; please check with the board president first to confirm the date if you are planning to attend.
